You can get the old creative live boxes that used to be bundled in the 5.1 platinum set,but cheap wouldn't be the way to.Is it for your pc?

I havn't tried one, myself, but if I was buying a new sound card I would seriously look at this one

http://www.cannings.co.uk/acatalog/t...oundcards.html

- mainly for the coax 5.1 output, which suits my speakers.

Re: Cheapest 5.1 soundcard with a breakout box/front panel?

just buy a 3.5mm stereo jack to double 3.5mm jack socket, leave you headphones plugged in and turn speakers off when you want to use headphones.
All 3 sets of speakers I own have there own headphone jack socket on the front somewhere

Okay but I am also trying to ditch the AC97 as apparently it has massive CPU overheads?
