Recover .pst passwords Outlook 2003

I need to retrieve one password.

Can anyone suggest a util that is either free or recovers passwords more than 2 characters long in the demo?!

How are you trying to recover a password? Is it from an account that is already set up on the computer but you can't remember what you typed in or is it a password that is associated with a file?
If you have an account in Outlook or Outlook Express that you have forgotten the password to and it's asterisked out on the page (*********) then there is a program called Revelation that can look behind the asterisks for you and show you the password.
I found one that will do 3 letters lol. Think you may be asking a tall task for a totally free version though

It's for a PST that a former member of staff backed up on our server.

When I try to import it the password scuppers me.

Has the former member of staffs' account been deleted or can it be used to access the backup?

No. Their pc was wiped when they left.

Ooops, someone I know always says "Never delete accounts, disable them just in case you need access to something they have done"

In that case then would your bosses stump up the ÃƒÆ’Ã†â€™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…Â¡ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£30 or so for a piece of software to make sure you never have this problem again?

Is the password on the actual PST itself?

If so, then have a look at my thread re. getting back into a PST file. clicky

The utility on that page could help you to remove the password.

The info was backed up on a spreadsheet which we have now found.
