What was happening to my pc last night?

Last night I uninstalled an add-on program for Flight Simulator called Active Sky.

When I rebooted to reinstall it, the mouse was frozen at the log on screen.

This happened for two reboots then the machine wouldn't get past the x64 splash screen.

Then, on the next reboot, the bios text for my DVD Writer was corrupted.

So, I did a system restore to when I uninstalled the program and everything is now fine.

Any explanations?

Cheers.
