Question PHP Help needed please

Hi everyone,

I have a local php application running on on my pc using appache
server in url 'http://localhost'.

I am trying to get the mail function to work but not having
much luck. My guess is I need some sort of mail server or emulator
running on my local PC but I have no idea where I should start.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Re: PHP Help needed please

It's pretty easy, just change the following lines in php.ini:

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = smtp.yourisp.com
smtp_port = 25

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = your@email.com

Restart your web server and that's it.

Re: PHP Help needed please

Thanks, that sounds really easy.

But do I not have to specify any passwords to connect to
my isp's mail server in order to send the email?

Re: PHP Help needed please

It depends on the ISP, most don't.
