Windows XP64 goes gold
Quote:
MICROSOFT HAS released the final version of Windows XP 64 to manufacturing, meaning that those with machines that have 64-32 bit processors in from AMD and latterly Intel can now see what the extra addressing brings to the party.
The gold download is available to MSDN subscribers.

I'm pulling this down now from MSDN and should be installing on Saturday.

Re: Windows XP64 goes gold
Don't know - it had better not, we pay enough for the bloody licence!
It's a free upgrade for XP Pro users though, as mentioned above.

I had no problems with my Via SATA controller (after hunting out a floppy drive so I could load them at install). The only driver I couldn't find was one for my wireless card (RT2400 chipset).

Yep, the drivers I need are all available.
FYI these are:
VIA SATA RAID.
Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Radeon 9800 Pro
VIA chipset (network card, USB 2, firewire etc)

Re: Windows XP64 goes gold
I've heard that the release has a 30 days before activation. Not going to install until realtek get off their jacksi and give 64bit drivers for their wireless chipset, though as far as i've seen, wireless support as a whole is lacking
