Does anyone know the maximum length of ethernet UTP cable you can have for linking a PC to a router.
I'm not going wireless so I want to put down some cable under floor boards and all round the house.
On a 1mb connection, would there be much performance lost if I was using a 20 metre cable ?
If it's based on twisted pair cable (which I bet it is) then as Richard said, 100 meters is the longest you can get it, so 20M there shouldn't be a problem.
