Firefox default?

Firefox was being really slow, so closed all instances and reopened, or tried to, it came up with a window asking which profile of firefox I wanted to use, and only listed default, but said that this was in use, so I created anouther and its not got any of my presets or anything, how do I switch back?

And why would this happen?

Re: Firefox default?

firefox crashed. close it down. ctrl+alt+del, close down every instance of firefox.exe

Then run it again.

Re: Firefox default?

I did that, and restarted, but I created a new profile, and don't know how to get back to the default profile.
