Thumbs up Cant delete a file, because its in use by another program? Then try this.

Ever wondered why, you cant delete a file while in Windows? Take Yahoo Messenger for instance. It says it cannot delete yamp.dll or a similar file. This program just does that with any file that you have trouble deleting.

Nice. Or just de-register the dll.

Or stop it running at startup, or just delete it in DOS?

Re: Cant delete a file, because its in use by another program? Then try this.

Hmm ... I read of a similar utility from MS that allows you to 'unlock' a file in use without the need for a reboot or something. Does anyone know where I can get it from?

I've got a problem with a webserver program in that it locks all the files that are in its web directory so you can't delete them without stopping and exiting the server program, so it's a pain to remove/update content, as I need to p!ss around with exiting it, deleting or updating the offending files and then starting it up again.

Sounds like a useful util, but I don't fancy rebooting every time I want to delete a locked file.
