i was going to search for them but you need house number too on the NTL site

Select any house number you want from the dropdown list, it doesn't matter as long as you don't actually order anything.

is that the case?? A friend of mine lives in an NTL cabled road but certain houses cannot have the service.

That may be the case for odd properties but the original question was about areas, not specific houses.
