filesize limit on ftp upload?
Anyone aware of a file size restriction on ntlworld webspace?
Im using smartftp and whilst small files (approx 15k) upload fine, Im having problems with pictures (around 100-200k) - it looks really weird because it seems to get half way through and then bombs out (session text below)
now I know you'll prob say Ive run out of web space but Ive got very little content on there (about 1mb!)
ive checked my settings...(passive & auto ascii/binary) etc etc.
heres the session text...

This seems to be the clue to your problem - make sure the files are not locked by another process.

thats a misleading message i think. I used to get that all the time and the file was not locked at all. i havent uploaded a large file recently to check to see if it still happens

Re: filesize limit on ftp upload?
This may be unrelater, but I had the same problem once, however I soon realised that it wasn't just uploading to NTL, it was a faulty set top box, and all uploads failed after about 15K. Downloads were always fine. Try uploading or sending a big email and see if that fails too. The set top bx was replaced for an lder model, and it was fine.

Re: filesize limit on ftp upload?
Hmmm...
Just tried uploading to a friends 1and1.co.uk webspace... it works fine.
so fairly sure its not box & also not locked by another process - I wonder if its user contention on ntlworld upload server?

This sounds like the problem I had when trying to use WSFTP-LE to upload to NTL webspace.
The only way around it was to use IE's inbuilt ftp server and set the address to ftp:// (and whatever the upload address is), that lets you transfer files by drag and dropping them.
