Problem with my mate's mini iPod

Hi all,

My mate got a mini iPod for Christmas. He turned it off earlier, and now it won't turn on again, or charge up. I suspect it's a dudd battery, but has anyone else experienced the same symptoms and got another explanation or way to fix it? Or could someone confirm my thoughts?

Thanks a lot,
Browneggsandham

Re: Problem with my mate's mini iPod

Does anything appear on the screen at all?

Mine used to appear with a folder with an exclamation mark when charging but refused to do anything when the charger was removed. In the end I had to replace the battery.

Re: Problem with my mate's mini iPod

I know this sounds stupid, but the hold buttons not on is it? Did your friend take it out of his pc or mac withou properly disconecting it on itunes?

That may cause some problems

see here - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60942

for some good things to try, it may need resetiung the site tells you how to, plus it also says you may need to wait for the battery to drain before its reset!

Personally i havent had any major problems with my ipod mini except getting itunes to find my ipod mini, but i just reset my ipod and all was good!

Re: Problem with my mate's mini iPod

Try connecting the main power lead and pressing and holding down both Menu and Play/Pause at the same time. The apple logo should then appear and restart it.
