NTL - Charging money (£) for FreeView Cricket - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hi

Being a cricket fan ( and despite considerable misgivings about the Zimbabwe regime) I rang NTL and said I was inquiring about the Cricket in Zimbabwe and SET Asia as the Sky website said it was on SET Asia ( I'd never heard of the channel 'SET Asia' before )

I was told it would cost £6 for a month to see the 4 cricket matches - so I went ahead

To my outrage when I turned on the cricket today (and this also happened last Wednesday too ) Up comes Channel 202 " NTL FREEVIEW : CRICKET "

I rang the call center at Swansea and was told that the only information they had was an Internal News Bulliten dated 1st December saying that SET Asia was chargeable at £6 per month - Swansea have NO information about the cricket being a FREE VIEW - even though I said that was what was on screen

>>> see attachment - screen shot

The agent took the details and said she would send an internal e:mail to someone in NTL ( she wouldn't give his name or e:mail addresss ) and I was told to ring backj Wednesday if I wanted to know anything more ???

Surely all this is wrong - NTL are broadcasting the cricket FREE yet charging for the service ????

I asked for the e:mail address of someone to complain to / ask for a refund - but was told all e:mail was 'INTERNAL' ???

Does anyone have any information here ?

and especially does anyone know thhe e:mail of the right person to complain to / ask for a refund ?

thanks

RJ

I think its just a cock up on the EPG. I just checked channel 202 and I get the "You are not subscribed to this channel" message, so it's not going out as freeview.

er . . . . thanks & maybe it is a simple cockup on EPG ?

I'm in the Brighton/Worthing area

Could it be that Channel 202 is on Free View down here - but not elsewhere in the country ? ? ?

Does anyone else get blocked / get Freeview on Ch 202 ? ?
