Thumbs down So exactly what is the problem.

I have a set top box broadband connection. One netgear router, 2 computers. Internet is fine on both computers. I switch on either computer and can send/receive mail 2 to 3 times. If I switch on other computer it is unable to receieve mail. Alawys comes up with the username/password box. This works either way, whichever computer. If I switch off the router I can sometimes then get mail, not always. If I reset the set top box I can get mail but it the resorts to the original requesat for username/password request. I have rund support 5 times and done all they requested as they claim they can access the mail accounts. Removed Zome alarm. Removed and re entered accounts. Checked all settings. Reset Netgear router, regesitered my computer at NTL. I even start up and use Thunderbird for mail and nothing else is running. Same problem. Is it me or NTL? as Southampton area is always listed in the service status page. I wrote to NTL and really gave them an earfull but have only received a computer related reference number.

Re: So exactly what is the problem.

NTL Email is flakey, though apparantly improving - as I no longer use it I can "neither confirm nor deny" this rumour.

Is surfing / ftp etc all ok from both PCs. If this is the case then it is probably NTLs creaky email servers.
