Do I need a BT Line to have this service?

I.e. Do I need to pay BT on a monthly basis as well as NTL?

Re: NTL Freedom Telephone

I hadn't quite understood whether I needed to pay NTL and BT. Apologies for wasting your time.

Not a waste of time really-just couldn't remember!

More info: https://secure.ntlfreedom.com/broadband_512k.aspx

Just noticed this.....

Quote:
5GB monthly download allowance

You may use your Broadband connection freely up to this usage allowance. We will be monitoring usage. If you reach your monthly allowance we will notify you by email and give you the option to upgrade to a more suitable Broadband service.
I thought the DSL package was being sold as uncapped?

[Edit-Ithink they may have changed the package, as before (if I remember correctly) it was a full 512k service for £25.00 or thereabouts, now it's a £17.99 512k service with a 5 gig 'limit' a la Wanadoo/BT Yahoo broadband I guess?

Re: NTL Freedom Telephone

They have made the packages the same as Virgin.net:
http://www.virgin.net/internetaccess...ml?buspart=157

They now have two plans (and even refer to the new plan as Plan Two - probably a cut'n'paste):
https://secure.ntlfreedom.com/htmlfiles/5gb.htm

Only NTL charge an exta £5 for Plan One (£29.99 instead of £24.99) but give you £15 of telephone calls "free":
