hi guys: possible virus?

hi guys: possible virus?

this is my first post!
gotta problem. i think my computer has a virus. connect to the internet using ntl cable modem. connection is fine, can use the MSN messenger, but can view any webpages. comes up with some error box. manage to deleate the error box, and the web pages can be seen. however, after i come back on later arfter powerdown, the same problem starts over again. please help!

Check for spyware first, since you said "you managed to delete the error box", i'm not sure what you mean.. Is it an advertisement? Can your provide a screenshot?

ok a few things we'll need to know:

the exact content of the error message

your system specification.. operating system and relavent software with details on current patch levels and versions

what anti-virus software and firewall software you use, if any
