ntl slow to update DNS?

I'm connected to the internet with ntl cable modem. My business domain (dg3.co.uk) is registered with another host - uk2.net. I send my mail via ntl, and collected from uk2.net until this week, when after horrific email problems all week, I've signed up with another webspace/email provider, 34SP.com. I've pointed uk2 nameservers to the new company servers and have got the website set up and functioning, but when I send test emails to my domain address via smtp.ntlworld.com, I'm not getting the replies back from my domain and when I check webmail with the new provider it's not arrived there. I changed the nameserver addresses about 12 hours ago.
I've tested sending mail to my domain from another connection and it's getting through fine .Could it just be ntl are slow to update their records with the new nameservers? Or am I doing something wrong.

I'm using Entourage on the Mac, sending to ntl and receiving from mail.dg3.co.uk. Never had any problems with other accounts in entourage (apart from the frequent ntl system outages!)

Re: ntl slow to update DNS?

With any Service Provider, it can take up to 48 hours for any changes to DNS to have any effect.

Re: ntl slow to update DNS?

Nameserver changes take up to 48 hours to propogate - this is a feature of DNS and nothing to do with NTL.

That's the physical address of the domain, I've just pointed to nameservers to 34SP.com so I can run the site and email from there, hoping their mail servers prove less troublesome than uk2.net's have recently.

Thanks!
