I couldn't see a section that mentioned Star Office being any less of a culprit with regards to storing meta data, and besides, Star Office is/has/probably always will be ... crap

Other than cost, I can see no benefits to using Open/Star Office over Office XP.

Therein lies another chief motivation for using it

I used star office afew years ago, I was impressed.
I still use office though, as it seems most people do. I dont have a copy of Star office, and I have to admit it would never enter my head to use it over MS office.

There was an interesting article about this in Online in the Grauniad a couple of weeks ago.

A friend's workplace received a memo instructing everyone to ensure that they'd got the "track changes" feature switched off in Word.

Apparantly someone had e-mailed a Word document to another company which started "Dear Company X...", but when the changes were reversed this became "Dear Miserable ba$tards!"
