STB loosing 16:9 setting

ok i'm getting abit fed up with this and I guess the only thing to do is to wait 2 hours to get through to CS.

Ihave got a pace 1000 box and we have this set to 16:9 mode and RGB. uite often it switches back to 4:3 even though when I go into the TV settings it says it's on 16:9. I keep having to reset this which can be annoying i fyou have to do it during a program.

It happened several times yesterday without the box being switched off my Dad switched to the us golf which was a 4:3 picture and then when we went back to the snooker which was 16:9 we were getting a 4:3 picture. It looks awful as everything looks too big. I notice straight away but my parents, who are getting on abit, don't always notice and can't fix it.

i know this can happen with the overnight updates but i get this several times a week as well as the good old lockups etc.

Re: STB loosing 16:9 setting

It's possible that the TV signal maybe "forcing" the picture change.

i'ev just got it connected via a scart cable and can't believe everyone has to reset the picture 5 times a week.

Re: STB loosing 16:9 setting

thanks for the link i've seen that thread before as well. That was started in May and i'm still getting the problem. I'm on the Bromley platform and that seems to mention Langley.

Also made a mistake above I have a 4000 box, I think. Will double check that tonight.

The link merges two threads. The problem I get is that I get a 4:3 picture that fills the screen on my 16:9 TV even though it is set to 16:9 in the menu and I have to go into the menu to reset this.

When the STB is working correctly 4:3 pictures always fill the screen as well.. would rather they had the black bars left and right which i think is 14:9 but that could be down to my TV rather than the STB there.
