Re: WinXP serice pack 2 - broke my connection?

Are you getting "Limited or no internet connectivity" in a balloon down by the clock?

Re: WinXP serice pack 2 - broke my connection?

I had the same problem, and it was most definatly SP2 that caused it.

The only solution i found was to System restore it, get SP2 off and not install it again. Before that, SP2 did it to me and i formatted the PC, and when i reinstalled the OS, put SP2 on and it killed it straight away. Now i have a Realtek network card in so its a bog standard common card and it killed that connection :-(

There are a couple of big threads on here about SP2 , best to read about those.

Id say, the only way i have found to repair it is with System Restore.

Sound advice from Kev - thread closed, and I'll be adding a link to the main SP2 thread in a moment.

EDIT

Here it is:

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=16303

This is a fairly long discussion but it does cover a wide range of the issues people have had with SP2.
