Thumbs down FX Channel

Just had a leaflet through the door saying NTL plan to add the FX channel free of charge only if the demand was there. To register your preferance you have to ring them on the number advised and let them know.

I did this on two occations, and both times after waiting 15-20 mins I gave up (I have better things to do that sit waiting forever).

What sort of a botched up campaign is that. Ask cutomers to call to register they want a new channel, then supply a number that puts you constantly on hold.

Re: FX Channel

I'm surprised that they don't let you register your interest via their website? That's what I would do if I was trying to canvass interest for a new channel.

The leaflet was from NTL, the no. was (I think) 0800 052 2000, the normal sales no.

Re: FX Channel

Hi

I'm fairly sure that this leaflet is not from us, possibly from the channel itself trying to gather interest. It sounds like they've used our customer service number on it. Does it have ntl logos on it?

I'd really like to see a copy of the leaflet if anyone can scan it in for me?

Cheers
Sam

Re: FX Channel

I'd really like the fx & horror channel and have emailed ntl to that effect - rather them than some more subscription channels like the ones recently added

I think you may be right, it has NTL & Telewest no.s and Logo's on it. I will scan the leaflet when I get home in a couple of hours and post a copy here.

Re: FX Channel

Well on further inspection there are NO NTL logos on the flyer . It is definitly from Fox, so an apology to NTL on this one where its due. Still a bit of a ploy on fox's behalf though, just take a look.

Re: FX Channel

You can also register your interest online (click on the link below ).

I wrote to Fox in May about their inclusion on NTL and they replied almost instantly :

Quote:

Thanks for your email.

We are currently in negotiations to be included on the NTL platform but we currently have no date for when that might happen. Obviously it is something we are very keen on.

However, may I suggest you contact NTL and register your interest in recieving FX? The more people who do, the more chance we have of getting on there!

regards,

FX Viewer Liason Office

Fox International Channels (UK) Ltd
The more people who sign up to the website the better

Mind you, seems they have started an even more aggressive campaign. And if it's to be added for free, there's seemingly nothing to lose

Re: FX Channel

Around here, we've not received one of FX's leaflets, so I'm suspecting that it's a targeted campaign based on the inital responses through the old page on the FX website that gave the option for an email to be sent on a customers behalf to ntl/telewest via FX289, before it was updated to the current, more proactive "call ntl" page.

Having said that, I would add my name to the list of those who would like to see FX289 added to the digital service - looks like it has some good programming - and a wider appeal perhaps than those three scottish sports channels added to the platform recently.

Wink Re: FX Channel

I used to have Sky and enjoyed FX289, in particular for NCIS and JAG. I just loved those programmes. I now live in a flat where we only have NTL and I am really getting withdrawal symptoms. I keep hearing rumours that NTL are going to start FX289, but so far that's all they are - rumours. I would have thought that at least one of those shopping channels must be superfluous, but as far as I am aware I have heard that the only reason NTL won't take FX289 is because they would have to pay for it.

Any petitions anyone wants to start in order to get FX289, I would gladly join. I keep getting copies of the latest episodes of JAG and NCIS sent to me, but it's not the same as actually watching the programmes myself!
