HI,

When I try & use BBCi interactive I get UN500 error, but in the background I can see all the different options, but can't get to them. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks

Try unplugging the box for at least a minute, I got that message before but haven't bothered doing anything about it myself

Re: BBCi interactive eror

If you want interactive that WORKS, get Sky or FREEVIEW - I wonder, does interactive work better for anyone not using the STB for broadband, or does the new silver box hold it together better than the Pace.

Don't use interactive, the box is generally reliable, use interactive, you'll be resetting it every few days.

Re: BBCi interactive eror

I got the UN500 error last night after deciding to experiment with the olympic interactive coverage on BBC2. Had to unplug the box to reboot it. I won't be doing that again; the plug is behind a childproof locked cover, I can't be bothered crossing the room and unlocking it every time my STB grinds to a halt. You may think this shows lack of patience on my part, but in the three years or so I've had NTL digital, the STB has crashed so many times, I just can't be bothered fighting with it any more.

I have lived in hope that the interactive services would one day work consistently and well. I'm moving house out of the NTL network in a couple of months so it looks like I will never see the day.

Re: BBCi interactive eror

BBCi Olympic coverage is now working pretty damn well on my Pace 4001N box (suprisingly).

What really confuses me about the whole interactive thing is, why can we not just put the other 4 streams on 4 visible channels, why all this press red stuff. I guess this is why you have 500 odd channels in the US and 200 in the UK, really at the moment BBC2 is 5 channels, just all in the same place.

what box do you have? Chris T as you might be able to reboot your box, simply by pushing buttons on the front

I believe the Beeb aren't allowed to add extra channels due to their licence. It's OK for them to add extra streams that are only accessible via an E-TV app though.
