Question Ordering Memorable Number

Hi, bit of a newbie round here.

I'm about to move to a different part of the country (Christchurch) and have just ordered NTL phone and Broadband. Is there any way of requesting a memorable number. BT will let you do this, but the CSR on the phone said that they are just generated randomly by computer and what comes up is what you get. Not very helpful!

Thanks!

Nice idea! However the house I'm moving to doesn't have BT currently so presume that I would have to pay about £100 connection fee to BT and then have them disconnected just to get a decent number! It's not that important to me .

Thanks anyway.

Re: Ordering Memorable Number

BT is often cabled to houses even if they are using another provider, also in the spirit of keeping more customers than they lose they are often connecting etc for free.
NTLs number ranges often seem a lot more limited than the range BT have to select from.
