Nah they just used the heads for once and realised it would just alienate more people to them. The PC cr@p has gone over the top once to often in this country

St George's Cross is the English flag (the British flag is the Union Flag).
But yes, banning people from showing/flying it is very stupid.
Some overly politically correct people seem to only associate the English flag with football hooligans, the BNP, stuff like that, and/or think that showing it is going to offend ethnic minority groups [even though, at least in this case, a spokesman for the Muslim community said that there is nothing with showing the English flag ]
As someone said in another thread, we need to reclaim our flag from the thugs. You should be able to fly the St George's Cross without being branded a racist. EDIT: See this post onwards - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...&postcount=113

Yes, that is good
Political correctness does go too far sometimes (as shown by this).

Re: company bans st george flag and the muslim community stands up against it
This kind of thing really aggrivates me. The PC brigade think they are creating an utopia of multi-culturalism by doing these kind of things, but all they are doing are patronising people of ethnic minorities.
Something like this happened the other day. A funeral home owner took down a cross from the wall to stop offending minorities, but some leader of some hindu representatives of England thought it was just condescending. Incidently, if I moved to India, and died and was in a funeral home in Bombay (Err, sorry, Mumbai), would he take down his statue of Ganesh because I was in the room? Not likely, and nor should he have to.
I really wish we would stop patronising ethnic minorities. Like the spokesman for the Muslim community in Liverpool said: It is our national flag, why can't we fly it? I don't think any foreigners arrived here thinking we would have to stop flying our own flag. My parents went to America and they didn't want them to stop flying the stars and strips, and fly the union jack instead. The fact they fly their flag is one of the reasons they moved. My family embrace the culture there. My two brothers are more American than some of the citizens. I'm sure that's how 98% of foreigners arriving here feel.

It is because the BNP use the flag of St. George, that now it is practically banned from everywhere, because people assume if you are flying it, you must be part of the BNP.
Now if only we can get the BNP to start reading The Guardian...

A spokesman for the Muslim community in Liverpool said: "This does not make any sense. This is the English national flag and people have a right to fly it.

I wonder what legal redress there would be against this stupid ban.
Given the peoples right to fly the flag I wonder what would happen if the company took any action against someone flying it, because surely thier ban would be illegal?
Employees have a duty to obey any reasonable & legal instructions from thier employers & this IMO fits neither description.
