Free FTP space?
Can anyone one recommend a free provider for FTP space, all I want it for is to stick some files on so I can access them from home and uni etc.
I really want something similar to the free space NTL give you, any ideas?
Preferably around 500MB, I've seen some company's offering this but I'd rather use one that was recommended by a friend than just one that advertises on the net.

Re: Free FTP space?
I'd be surprised if there was anyone out there being so generous as to give you 500mb for free. If you're on broadband, can you not set up your home PC to allow FTP access from your work PC? I have my Mac set up like that at the mo, it's been very useful as we visited friends last weekend who took loads of photos of our son with their super-funky professional digital SLR camera. They FTP'd them onto my HDD overnight during the week. 'fraid I can't tell you how you might set up a Windoze PC to do that tho.

Re: Free FTP space?
Well I tried to use WinVNC to access my home PC while I'm away but I just couldn't get it to work, I'm guessing its somithing to do with my firewall as it works just fine when I try to use it across my home network so I gave up and thought I'd us some ftp space to transfer the files I need (as some of the PC's I use son;t have CD burners). I found this company ( http://www.internetplanet.ca/) but I cant seem to find any reviews, just thought I'd see if anyone here had any ideas.
As a side note, has anyone had an experience with www.SpyMac.com?

Re: Free FTP space?
Cheers BBwannabe, I'll have a look, maybe that'll be the best option for me, its not like its going to us loads of bandwidth, and I leave my PC on all the time.
Thanks fo the offer Paul, I'll get back to you if I need it, much appreciated

I had a quick read around their site but they make you pay after the first month so I went to see if there was anyone that could compete, and after a short Google I came across Filezilla server (and client) and it works great.
Just need to set it up when I get home now
