I recommend downloading this reverse-engineered version: http://www.kazaakpp.com/
I use it myself and it's pretty damn good for mp3s and things but for films + TV you should be using eMule or something.

Then tell him to download "Spybot - Search & Destroy" and scan his PC.
He may be shocked.

Kazaa Lite is the way to go, also note that if you use adaware/spybot to remove the spyware in normal Kazaa it wont work again coz of the cdclint.dll file.
