Just thought I'd say....
HELLO!!
It's been ages since I came here last. Thought I would check out how all the regulars are doing and how the newbies are surviving!
I have had a NTL-stress-free few months and it feels good, I can tell ya!
Pipex broadband is a godsend - and NTL lost a good customer (not that they care!).
How's it going, guys & gals??
Tracy

Can I just say this, um... "one man's (woman's) medicine, is another man's (woman's) poison" - wise words and unfortunately true!
Tracy <-- attempting an empathetic response

Seriously, I got so worked up at the shenanigans of NTL and this forum was a blessing - support and humour was good medicine for me.
Still cant believe how NTL are getting away with their arrogance tho!

You certainly can, but remember that there are also plenty of happy NTL customers, but they still appear to be anathema to the majority of the membership here.

I think it was Neil who said that the thing we need to clarify about NTL is not the products, but the general service (and I must stress that I am not on about the poor over-worked CS guys either!). Most happy customers havent had any difficulties with regards to their financial situation or technical mishaps - its usually when a problem arises that NTL cannot deal with it in a rational and civilised manner. I speak as a biased ex-customer, of course.
My problem was simple but NTL actually attempted to "punish" me for my crimes. Just check out my original posts here to understand what I mean.
And the thing is, they were smug and arrogant and reported in a statement to Otelo (the ombudsman) that I had no evidence to prove that they had ignored my correspondence. They ignored letters and emails, but managed to cash cheques sent to the same address that correspondence was going to! Suss that one out
Although NTL is out of my life now, I am still angry (sad git, I know ) that NTL tried to make out that I was a liar and broke their rules! grrrrr!
How many more people are being stressed out and frustrated by the way in which this power-hungry corporation operates??
