Freeview boxes

I'm thinking of getting a freeview box for my bedroom TV. Anyone recommend a good box. I want one with a card reader in it in case I decide to get the top up tv thing.

I quite like the look of the Pace DTVA. It looks pretty nifty and it seems to be small too, which is always a bonus (although the ladies out there will disagree! ) Anyone have any experience of it?

Re: Freeview boxes

Why not go for a second Sky box instead of a Freeview box? You can pick up a used box quite cheap and use it to get FTA channels without a viewing card or monthly charge or get a mirror subscription with all the same channels as your main Sky box for £10 per month.

Re: Freeview boxes

Just bought my daughter a Philips DTR 1500. I must say I am very impressed by it. 2 scart sockets and dual phono out, can be used vertically to save space, excellent OSD, and the speed of the interactive on freeview is amazing after using Ntl interactive

Cost between £60 and £90 if you shop around.
Not sure about card reader though.

Is it not the case that you can't get ITV1, C4 or C5 free-to-air on Sky because they are encrypted along with the rest of the channels?
