Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka
Grand Admiral Thrawn goes way, way back. He was created for a a series of original Star Wars novels published in the early 90s, although the way the character was later adopted and portrayed in Rebels has long since rendered all his old appearances in novels (five of them, eventually, IIRC) sadly non-canon.
I’ve not bothered with any of the animated Star Wars material so I will be curious to see whether the Thrawn we have now is as good as he was originally written (which IMO was extremely good).

Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka
I'm aware of his history, I vaguely remember reading one of those books in the mid 1990's.
Although they were all declared non-canon, Lucasfilm did like him, and Feloni decided to use him in Star Wars Rebels (even though its set a little earlier in the timeline than his original namesake).

Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka
He's excellent in Rebels, and I believe it is his voice actor who is playing him. I deffos recommend giving Rebels a watch.

Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka
yes, season 1 Rebels is OK, but once it gets going it's really good, and you're introduced to other characters and events that have been seen/referenced in the live action series.
I read that it's not essential viewing to enjoy Ahsoka, but I'd imagine it will make more sense if you've already seen it, and ppl being excited about other ppl turning up in Mandalorian etc
I read the original Thrawn trilogy many years ago, and liked Thrawn in Rebels.

Re: Star Wars: Ahsoka
I enjoyed them, looking forward to seeing where it goes. It seems like you have to of seen Rebels though, as it is a continuation of that show.
