Seems strange seeing that people of my era are now in their 70's, they all seem to be frozen as young men in my memory. Gerry and the Pacemakers was one of the groups that my boyfriend, now my husband, and I saw performing in Liverpool in the early 1960's and it seems like only yesterday.
Rest in peace Jerry, your iconic songs will live on.

Re: RIP Gerry Marsden
It’s funny that despite their great rivals The Beatles being the ones to go on and conquer the world, in Liverpool today it’s Gerry and the Pacemakers you hear playing most often, whether it’s YNWA at Anfield on a Saturday, or Ferry Cross the Mersey every time one of them arrives at the Pier Head. This bloke has provided the soundtrack to a city’s life, and that’s a fitting epitaph. RIP Gerry.
