Hercules Digifire 7.1
I've just got this card to replace my old soundblaster Live 5.1....
It's installed ok.... BUT
Where in the sound options on the control panel - you choose the type of speaker system.
It keeps resetting itself to 2 - instead of 5.1
I have to redo it EVERY time I reboot.
Anyone got any ideas?
I'm running XP
Cheers in advance

Re: Hercules Digifire 7.1
Try going into Control Panel/Sounds And Audio Devices, click on the 'advanced' tab under speaker settings (at the bottom) and set it to whatever speaker set you have, hopefully this will keep your settings, XP does the same with Creative cards occasionally (mind you, that could be Creative's cack driver development)

Re: Hercules Digifire 7.1
Ensure you have the latest drivers, they will when installing ask you to disconnect from internet (odd I know).
I set up mine on 5.1 and it stayed on 5.1 that was on a winxp sp1.
Go get new drivers, however it seems these drivers are not updated that often, which could mean two things, 1. they have a stable driver set. 2. they can't be bothered to update them.
See how that goes.

I didn't make myself clear enough in my initial post - sorry
This is what I'm doing - but each time I restart the pc it's changing back to 2 speakers.

The Digifire application is set on 5.1 speakers - but the sound output is only coming out in stereo - until i set it to 5.1 in the control panel.
