Question Samsung T100 - COM port?

I got this phone as a replacement for my last one which decided it no longer wanted to work

Anyway - I do like this phone - BUT.....

It comes with a cd and data cable.

I can't get the smegging thing to see the phone.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get it to work.

It's been ages since I've used a com port on my pc... The port works with a serial mouse when i test it.

But the software for the phone won't pick up the phone.

Any ideas would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

I've had endless fun fiddling with the bios settings

All I managed to do was to get the serial mouse to stop working (just used this to test the port)

To be honest I never thought i'd EVER use a com port

It took me a little fiddling under XP to get my old T100 working, not really a solution but you could get hold of a USB cable for it instead.

Now this is what I thought - about being a com port setting fault - but it still works with the mouse so I dunno.

It's driving me up the wall

Re: Samsung T100 - COM port?

brother in law just got a t100, the cd he got with it didnt work so we got the software from here. switch it off and plug in the cable then open the flip.if its connected the screen goes white and the little animation in the top right corner of the software moves a bit.
btw does anyone know how to unlock these? the only software i found had a little warning in the .rar saying that this could kill your phone and the lads on the markets want £50 to £80 squid to do it!!
