Ive had the 10mbit cable service for just over 1 week and frankly for me its appauling, unless i stay up till 3am and then i can dload certain files at 8mbit yipeeeee! so pointless.

I have a TV and phone package with them and have absoloultey no problems with this.

Is it true ive just signed up for a 12mth contract?

Do you forsee any problems with me downgrading my pacage back to what it was, totaly getting rid of the internet package part??

I have no problems paying for a months line rental, and i can probably sell the wireless kit i bought to support the modem on ebay or something.

Have you spoken to ntl to get them to sort it out, as you are paying for a service you are not getting, ntl may not just let you cancel just cos you say it does not work. Get them to sort it out mate.

A few questions though,
1..how are you connected, is it a modem
2..have you run a speed test with and without the router in, as it could be the router causing you trouble.

Re: Cancel

I will try again without the router its a pain as the ntl box is down stairs and the PC up.

I thinks is just contention, it is good "off peak" but that really is no use to me as i use it mainly evenings.

time to unwind the 30m ethernet cable i have somewhere in a drawer :O

Re: Cancel

Yes you can cancel within the first 30 days of ordering it as stated in the terms and conditions you sign up to heres a quote:

"We're so confident that you'll be happy with your new ntl service(s), we're offering a money back guarantee. If you're in any way dissatisfied and wish to cancel, you can call customer services within 30 days of installation and request a refund. We'll then credit your account with your first month's rental charges and any installation fees. All we'll charge you for are any calls made, movies, music, any pay-per-view or On Demand events ordered or any service upgrades after installation. 30 day money back guarantee only available to new ntl customers. This does not affect your statutory rights."

So you can give them any reason
