Moved house, new modem

Today the NTL engineer came around to install the line into my new home. I had been waiting for this installation to cheekily ask for a new modem, currently using a surfboard 3100 on 10Mb (which can't handle it). No problem, he said.
He asked if I had a pin code from NTL, which I hadn't as I assume that NTL assumed I'd use my existing modem.
He gave me a CD to install and use to register my new modem and to call CS for the pin code (but have spotted it on Robin Walker's site, so don't want to call unless I have to), which I will do when I get home, but I want to do it armed with a bit of info.
Will it give me the option of retaining my current NTL account and email address, or will it force me to create a totally new account. If I have to create a new account can CS point my old email address to my new account?

I think this depends on what they have done with the old account etc.

If you did have your old pin number etc you could point your browser to https://autoreg.autoregister.net and then there is an option on there to choose existing customer etc which should retain your existing email address etc.

Worth checking with Tech Support firstly.

Worst case scenario is you can sign up as a new customer and then ask them to release the original email address so you can re register the same address.

Re: Moved house, new modem

What should happen is your account should be disconnected at the old address and transferred to the new one with your modem being disconnected.

If you go to https://autoreg.autoregister.net/cgi/housemove and enter your username and password, attach the new modem and it should automatically activate and register the new modem. Should be as easy as that

Re: Moved house, new modem

Ta for the replies. Called up TS when I got home from work but didn't know I had a security word Called CS and got that reset. Called TS back and the helpful guy pointed me to that URL Marge - it was as easy as that and I'm now running at 10Mb.
