problems with wow, lag spikes, packet loss - oxford.

Hi people, only noticed this today (saturday 20th)

Anyone have any idea whats going on, is there any scheduled work today?
Im just outside oxford.

When playing world of warcraft, im getting 800+ms pings, and ultimately disconnections/dropouts.

Had packet loss from bbc earlier, but seems ok right at this moment.

your ping OUT of the NTL network looks fine - the other end of the tracert looks to be the issue.

Yep mines like that, but dont seem to be having any problems playing. Perhaps the routers are jam packed and are ignoring ping requests?

Ok thanks guys,

Yesterday morning/early afternoon was horrible - just so up and down, with disconnections etc.

whatever it was seems to have resolved itself for now, although the tracert still looks bad, im back to 60-80ms ping in game and its stable so im cool.

i kept d/c from xbox live all day sunday then brother on pc downstairs was dropping out of wow. then last night read bout ntls problems i think its all linked.

it's not been too bad for me in Woking, typically getting 100-200ms latency according to the game (on 2Mbit).

I would point out that Blizzard have configured their network such that pings are dropped at their connection with telia, so beyond a certain point a tracert will always fail...
