I cancelled and live in France and am still being billed

Hi,
I cancelled my package by phone on 30/6, (received confirmation back from them a week later) we gave them the 20/7 as moving date and the engineer turned up on 19/7 to take the STB, I asked him to leave the phone on till the next day, although he said he would, an hour later the phone was dead.
We received a statement at the end of July charging us upto 25 Aug, I accepted that as I took it to be under the 30 day notice.
I gave my daughter's address as a forwarding address and she tells me that we have just received another invoice from NTL for £87 and billing us for the next period upto 25 Sep.

I do not want to have to start ringing up from France and being held in a queue for ages and then paying a hefty telephone bill because of NTL's mistake. (0800 numbers cost from France)

Has anyone got any alternate ideas I can do to sort this out??

Regards

If you have had a confirmation letter about cancelling your account make sure you cancel your DD while you bring up the issue of being billed while not getting the service.

Re: I cancelled and live in France and am still being billed

Hi,

I have just received the copy of the invoice from NTL that my daughter had forwarded to me and she had not mentioned that there was a CR by the amount! NTL had credited most of my previous invoice.
Well she has only just started living independently so she has a few things to learn like you do not pay invoices that are in credit. I suppose I should also learn not to jump the gun and wait to I had the invoice in my mits.

C'est la vie....
