XBox Live + PC games?

Are there any games which you can play on the XBox (such as RTCW) which also let you compete against PC players on the net?

I don't think GR can be, which is a shame because it's my favorite PC game.

Plus they'd all have a mouse to aim with and beat the crap out of you!

Sony / PS2 are planning to allow PC gamers to play against there console rivals in an up and coming game, so you might need to look to pastures a new if your dreams are to come true.

the beauty of live is that its a closed network which remains cheat free. That cannot be said for the Hackers-Ville that is the PC network, and I'm sure Sony are heading the same way.

I hope they can pull it off cheat free, although early signs such as the cheating on SOCOM is bad news (has that been fixed btw?).

I'm all for cheat free gaming, its one of the attractions for Xbox Live, how long can it last though?

Some of that is really impressive (n1 for posting that morris )...but leaves me with the desperate need to say that some people have way too much time on their hands!!!! :p

Re: XBox Live + PC games?

The wall glitch was shown on the OXM disk this month, is this really considered cheating?

You'll always get some kind of glitch in a game there never gonna be water tight without patching!

I say real kinda cheating is when a player becomes invinsable, or they can shoot through walls, giving them an extreme advantage over the rest.

Re: XBox Live + PC games?

I agree Ste cheating is doing something that gives you a [unfair] advantage over your opposition.

However, shooting thro walls is allowed in Rainbow Six 3 :p

Saying that, most people I know are that good at these games they dont need to cheat!....maybe I do just to keep up with them!

Re: XBox Live + PC games?

the RTCW - Hack Trailer Teaser clip looks like its been done on a modded xbox through LAN...easier to do hacks like that on a modded box.

its like halo, theres a version of it that makes you invincible, full ammo, super jumps etc, but you cant play it against people that dont have the same hack.

i doubt they will be able to use a hack like that on live.

it would have been interesting if he had put the live section at the front and continued it through to the game..

I suppose the question is: " why would genuine gamers want to cheat on anything..wheres the fun in that?"

Ok,

not sure if you have played the halo hack, but what happens when u try to play it with ppl who do not have the same hack, it says "Xbox Out of Sync", i wonder if you had started a game wether it would have worked..

I am hopefull it wouldnt...or it looks like xbox live could go the way of pc gaming..only being able to play with friends who you know dont cheat..

i just cant see that kinda thing making it onto live. most of the "cheating" on live is down to stupid devs allowing single player cheat modes to be played online, rather than someone hacking their xbox to play online. as far as i am aware, its still not possible to put an modded box online without first disabling the chip. long may it stay that way.
