V6 Copy Settings
Got and set up V6 today. Very nice.
However I've followed the instructions and it says "Access Denied: Virgin TV Go - exclusive to Virgin TV customers."
What now? Any suggestions?

I got answer from VM on social media. Basically there is something wrong at VM's end and they've reported it. They also provided a different link which provides an alternative route and it worked. :-)

Can you remember what it was Angus? I've just had to have my V6 replaced and to do it the instructions say to go to:
Virginmedia.com/helptvonthego, which doesn't exist.
I know that it didn't work for ages, but I remember Spider plant saying a bit ago that this had been resolved.
Ringing that call centre is like banging your head against a brick wall. The first 3 times resulted in a long period on hold before being cut off. Yesterday I was also told that rebooting my box would sort it out and that doing this wouldn't affect the recordings I was currently making!!!
Today she started waffling on about the 360, then telling me that recordings couldn't be transferred across (I never asked for that as I know it isn't possible)!!!

One of my carers did a search of the Virgin Community Forums and some threads about this come up, but when he clicked on them, they had been deleted! I think Virgin might be wanting to forget that this facility ever existed, surely they would have been better pushing TiVo for a solution seeing as they pay them for the TiVo technology/branding.

Haven't you worked it out yet. They are not interested in TiVo . Want everyone to move over. We just have to live with less and less features .or change of cause

Yes, I think you're right and this is being done to try and force people onto the 360. When I called she said to click on the 'get 360' tile to sort out the issue! I hate how Virgin staff in that offshore call centre try and manipulate people.

Only just saw this. Sorry you’ve not had a more positive outcome.
Been recently wondering if our V6 needs replaced so this feature not working anymore is disappointing if not surprising. A glitch or something in the latter half of last year removed all the thumbs up data and whether episodes of shows had been watched even though the series links and other personalisation remained so it’s more an irritation than anything.

You lose some, but you gain others.

It’s a shame that advice is no longer available, but it’s not the end of the world. You would have to compile a new list if you moved to any other operator.
I simply compiled a list of titles that I wanted to retain on my new box when I transferred to the 360. Didn’t take too long. You’ve probably spent a lot more time trying to get the information!

I took a photograph of the lists in the end. There's a lot to input onto the new box, so i'll have to do a bit each day and hope I don't miss anything.
The most annoying thing is finding that it's recording things I've already seen. All thumbs up/down have been lost too, so Suggestions are now way out.

Re: V6 Copy Settings
From memory - and I used it a few times - it would only copy active series links.
So if a series link was for a series which is not currently in the 21 day guide and not available on CU/OD - then that link would not copy.
Most of my recordings were actually done using wishlists - which was extremely good and selective.

If that's the case I don't feel as bad having to have all the series links input again!
It's started to pick up programmes that I don't want. Does anyone know the process for telling the V6 not to record something ie -Coronation Street?

Re: V6 Copy Settings
You'll find you can only enter them if they are currently active.
switch off suggestions to stop unwanted stuff - which does not hold up any disk space.

I don't want to switch off Suggestions as I find them useful.
There is a process to stop it recording some series that you don't want it to suggest by putting a minus sign in front of it, it then goes into Wishlists.

Re: V6 Copy Settings
Thumbs down what you don't like as suggestions - your box has to learn all over again.
Quickest way it to go through the EPG doing a up/down on stuff
