After totally rejuvinating my old laptop by installing linux on it I now want to get a new battery. My current one lasts around an hour before it turns off.
Has anyone had any luck with the batteries off of ebay? I hear mixed reports!

There are some reputable battery suppliers on ebay. Just look for ones in the UK and that don't have "asian" names (some are just resellers for Chinese imports that can be a bit dodgy).
I was told a good few years back, that the quickest way to damage the battery, is to leave it charging for long periods of time whilst the laptop is off. Just an hour or 2 will be enough, but when the laptop is in use it shouldn't matter how long it's charging.
