Have just signed up to the 50mb package and was after a few questions regarding the install.
When signing up Virgin offered me a self install guide which I turned down as the property has never had Virgin Media (no sockets on any walls). I had a look outside and on the front of the property there is a brown NTL box upon opening up the box it would appear my neighbour has been connected up at some point in the past.
My question is, will Virgin use this old cable to connect me or will they fit a new brown box and cable? We live in a semi detached however we are right on the footway (no drive or garden) in the footway tee I can see a new cable coiled up inside and then an old one that comes out the footway into the brown box and then across to the neighbours house however the cable is cut in half inside the brown box.
