The Great Nottinghamshire Merlot hunt.

Hi,

My favourite Merlot is the Barefoot brand. Can anyone recommend a smooth, full-bodied, intense Merlot that is, well, cheaper than seven quid a pop? Drinking a half-price Louis de Camponac from our local Tossco at the mo, and I have to say, its a tad insipid.

Answers on a postcard please to:

The Liver Preservation Foundation.
25, Cirrhosis Close,
Yellow Skin Lane,
Upper Abdominal Discomfort.

If it's supermarket fayre you're looking at then perhaps:

ASDA - La Moneda Reserva

Various - Concha Y Toro Sunrise

Re: The Great Nottinghamshire Merlot hunt.

No probs.

If you're into Merlot you might like Barbera d'Asti if you can find it

Waitrose do a great one called "Araldica" but it's about 8 quid. ASDA used to do their own too which was cheaper but still very good. I haven't seen the latter in the local around here for a while.
