My small ( 32") tv seems no matter what settings I use be unable to show all the screen- ie if I try Sky sports news I cannot get all the screen graphics visible at the same time. I what I mean is if I can see the full score on the right hand side I lose part of the graphic on the far left. Any ideas.
As all I have are Tivo boxes I have posted this here

In analogue days the edges of the TV picture were ill-defined, so TVs deliberately cut off the edges to keep a clean picture. Your TV is one of these. Unfortunately Sky don't make allowance for this and put the text right up to the edge of the picture.

Check the TV's menus to see if there is an overscan or picture width setting.

Lots more on this here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan

I'm not totally sure but try these steps:

On your TiVo go to -Home - Help & Settings - Settings - Video Out - TV Aspect Ratio - 16:9 Wide (I'm assuming you have a wide screen TV & connected by HDMI).

On Your TV go to - Settings - Screen - Display Area - Full Pixel

I have a Sony Bravia TV and your settings may well be different but it's the "Full Pixel" bit that's important. I believe on a Samsung you set the attribute P.size to 'Full Scan' (Picture Options - Screen Size) IIRC.

Bit of a hijack this, but whilst we're on a similarish topic, when I switch on my v+hd the Philips tv it's connected to automatically switches from widescreen to super zoom. I recently had the v+hd downstairs on a different tv while I was waiting for an engineer visit to sort out the TiVo and it happened there as well, so I'm kind of assuming it's the box? Anyone any ideas?

I used to have a Philips TV that would do that. It was connected by SCART to a Freeview box. I eventually discovered that using one of the other settings instead of widescreen would make it behave correctly. Unfortunately I can't remember what that setting was, but it was something non-obvious like 4:3.

Is your other TV a Philips too? Are you using SCART or HDMI?

Ok thanks, i'll have a play. Both Philips connected by hdmi, neither do it with the TiVo, though.
