TiVo vs V HD Box

Hi Guys,

You may have seen my earlier thread stating I currently have a TiVo and looking to get a V HD box for the bedroom.

I just wanted to ask an additional question re: VOD and whether the VOD content on the V HD box is similar to that on the TiVo?

I appreciate it won't have the same BBC iPlayer or Netflix with it not having it's own modem but can you still get the same catch up on stuff like the Sky channels (non Premiums) and is it available in HD?

Or is it a lot more limited VOD content than the TiVo?

Grateful for your help.

Cheers

Re: TiVo vs V HD Box

I have a TiVO in one room and a HD Box in another and the catch-up stuff seems to be the same. The lay-out is different but what I get on iPlayer seems the same too. What is offered in HD on the iPlayer TiVO appears to be on the HD box as well.

Thanks Russ, I assumed it would be similar but just wanted to check as I'll be using On Demand more on that due to having no recording function.

Re: TiVo vs V HD Box

iPlayer on TiVo has different content due to the fact its comes OTT (over the top) internet sourced rather than fro the VM servers, everything else is identical.

Not completely true. TiVo also has access to Sky Movies on Demand HD which the V HD box doesn't. Can't remember at the moment if that also applies to other Sky on Demand HD content

Ben or anyone, grateful if someone could confirm whether the non-premium Sky On Demand content is available in HD via the V HD Box.

Thanks
