No R38 update

I run my pc 24/7 so I waited till next reboot of my Superhub in modem mode c/w Dir 615 router to update to r38.
Shut everything down power off etc and went on hols for two weeks.
Came home and booted everything up again--noticed I now had 2 upstream channels still 3mbs up though!!! but the firmware did not up date to r38.
Everything is ok though, wondering why it didn't happen though when I thought it would do so automatically on boot.Would any one care to offer up an explanation please.

Re: No R38 update

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it downloads the firmware and THEN reboots, rather than downloads it ON boot. So the next reboot you do might make it update. Though you should have had it 2 weeks ago anyway. Either way I wouldn't worry a lot about it if you're not having issues.

Re: No R38 update

I haven't rebooted mine manually in an age but on checking now it is on R38. Nothing much in the log - latest entry is a TOD established mid July. I have seen some short outages in my TBB monitor so it's possible it was updated after one of those rather than the outage being down to the firmware being pushed.

I haven't been over concerned with firmware updates since putting it in modem mode and doubt that even if yours hasn't updated you'll be missing out on anything much if it too is in modem mode.

Re: No R38 update

Will the modem Automatically go into 120mb mode while in modem mode or will I have to reboot the SH for the changes to take effect? currently using my own modem but I wasn't sure if I would need to access the SH at all to get the 120mb working.

Not in my area yet even though the update page said it was nearly 2 weeks ago.

Your hub was off when they pushed the release out.

The SH1 in modem mode is a "natural state", oddly enough. This means that when they upgrade your circuit to 120 meg, it's the modem side that deals with this. They push out a new configuration file to the SH and that's it.
