Xbox SmartGlass (was "Official "My Xbox Live" app...")
The official My Xbox Live app has just been updated to now also act as an Xbox Companion (I think the WP7 version has had this for a while?).
You can now use it to control the Dashboard, plus it has its own Quickplay menu to launch recent apps, and you can use it to control media.
I've just had a play, using it to browse the dashboard at first, then I used its own Quickplay menu to launch 4oD, and then used the app to control the video.
Very nice
EDIT:
The My Xbox Live app has also finally been released for Android. At the moment it is more like the initial iOS release, but hopefully will eventually get Companion features added.

The first version of the Android XBL app launched this week - it's not yet got Companion control, and is more like the initial iOS version (Friends, Achievements, Avatar, etc.).

From the screenshots on the link, it looks like "Friends" is under the "Social" section.

You can now control your XBOX with the iPad app not just the iPhone app.

Its a bit pants on all platforms, I don't really see the appeal of having a map on another screen when you can just press pause.

On the iOS version you can view friends list, send messages and edit your avatar. You can't do that on the Windows 8 version. I think there's other things you can't do on the Windows 8 version either. So you don't get the same experience off each app. So far I'd recommend using the iOS version.

One of the perils of Android is that you get left behind quite quickly unless you have a Nexus device Are you still on Gingerbread or something?

It's likely people rooted their devices to 4.0
