My Virgin anytime app works using that setup and allows you to stream channels to your IPad if you have one!

Allows you to use the TV Anywhere app on iOS and other TiVo remote apps on other smartphones. If you have more than one TiVo and link them both then you can use multiroom streaming*

*on certain channels

WRONG

You can stream channels to an iPad without connecting the TiVo to your router. This is called Away Mode.

Connecting the TiVo to the router enables Home Mode (and Multi-Room Streaming if you have a second TiVo). The ONLY function that Home Mode has over Away Mode is to act as a replacement remote for your TiVo.

Stand corrected my IPad is a great remote control though
