Terrible speeds from the last few days

Hi
,
I recently upgraded to the 100mb recently and the no of DS channels also increased from 4 to 6..

Everything was working fine including the download speeds in the evenings but now from the last few days I am getting absolutely rubbish speeds during the evenings to late nights (to the time I am awake) from HTTP. NNTP, FTP etc.

It's back to normal in the mornings but then when I download in the mornings the restrictions kick in.

I have attached the speed graph from my NNTP client

Re: Terrible speeds from the last few days

In this area, for the last couple of weeks my 50Mbit service has been running around 5.5Mbit, and hasn't passed 7.5 at any stage. since some maintenance work.

Others in the area have been suffering the same problems.

Where are you located, what are your power levels like?

Are you talking about megabits or megabytes? If we are talking about bits then both are pathetic for a 50mbit connection. If you are talking about bytes then 5.5mb/sec is perfectly fine and you are never going to pull 7.5mb/sec off a 50mbit connection, the absolute max is going to be around 6mb/sec.

Power levels are fine btw.
