V+ : HD V+ Through a Coxial Socket

Hi

I have my TV on a wall in my extension, I didn't want the engineer to tack the cable along my skirting and into this room so the cable is running through my attic and back down through a drilled hole in the wall in my extension.

I want to tidy up the appearance of this, so would I encounter any problems if I cut the cable and wired it up to a coaxial socet on the wall. I could then run a short lead from the socket to my virgin box.

If so, is there a special socket I need as some DIY store's, sell seperate tv and satellite sockets?

If you do it correctly then should be fine, you can wire the cable to any type of wall connector, so long as you make your self a good quality cable to connect to the wall plate then have a f-type male connector on the other end. Note not doing it right will give you a dodgy picture or none at all.

And be aware that if you do mess up your reception by doing this and call VM in, it could incurr a considerable charge. Strictly speaking any alterations on the feed side of VM's equipment is against their T & C's

I went to TLC to buy the wall plates, sockets and f-plugs. What used to be the aerial socket in the lounge now feeds the Virgin signal into the loft and down into the bedroom. It works fine
