problems with skysports hd2?

Hi all,

Got a tivo box last weekend as part of the VIP package. overall I am very happy with it.

However, Sky Sports 2 HD seems completely unwatchable. Every couple of minutes, the screen will pixelate, freeze and black out before coming back on.

Sky Sports 1 HD seems fine, as do the movie channels.

The other channel I seem to have this problem with is Dave HD.

Before I ring Virgin, does anyone else have problems with specific channels? It seems a bit odd to me that one or two HD channels are affected but not all of them.

Thanks

No milko l have to say that l don't seem to have any of the above named problems with certain channels but have you tried rebooting your box as sometimes this can iron out any problems with certain channels.

Before you ring can you just check the following in the box settings.

If the picture display setting is set to "Auto Wide" then change it to either 720 wide or even 1080 wide, this will stop the box "self adjusting" when the broadcast alters, hence giving the blank/poor quality picture while it does.As with everything this may not be the cause but at least you can eliminate it if it isn't.

Re: problems with skysports hd2?

You have a signal fault that only affects certain frequencies. It's not unusual, as the cable carries the lower frequencies better than high ones. You'll need to give Virgin a call to get it fixed.
