Freeview HD sales top 1.3m in Q4 2011

The UK's biggest digital television platform commercially launched a new high definition service in March 2010, initially seeing relatively modest sales of receiver equipment, taking just under a year to pass 1m.
But the service appears to be hitting its stride as the UK gears up for a 2012 packed with live sport, including the London Olympics and Euro 2012.
In the final three months of 2011, sales of Freeview HD set top boxes and TVs hit 1.3m, helping the number of Freeview HD units sold in total to pass 4.4m by the end of December
