Logitech Harmony

Has anyone gotten one of these to work? I've had previous remotes that didn't but the Logitech 'checker' states it works (V+).

I am on my 2nd Harmony 525 (first one died after 2 years). Both worked fine with every device I have tried them on (including the v+).

I've got a 515 which I have linked to 2 TVs and a V+. It also works on the other Virgin boxes we have, including the V box.

Yep my 525 works great! Both SA and Samsung V+ boxes are in the device database

Harmony One. Fantastic though it does take time and patience to set up. on the PC.

I have a Harmony 555 which makes life much easier compared with using 3 remotes. Only thing to watch out when I changed to a Panasonic TV the TV requires the power on buyyon to be depressed for half a second. You have to contact Harmony to get the patch as for some reason they dont bother to install it automatically.

Harmony 785 - straight forward set up via the PC with all the functions of the V+ remote replicated.

Harmony 1000 works a treat. I had a SA V+ and then a samsung V+ and original setup works for both models

I have had mine two years now and still no probs.Originally i had to google some macro's for it as the coloured buttons were not fully working as they should but i think this has been resolved now. Of course the macro feature is great for example:

* button i use to set my tv to action mode

# button i use to automatically input four digit code and press done when the watershed pin protection is asked for. basically one key press for what would be 5 key presses on normal remote.

oh and it looks neat aswell.

sorry forgot to mention that you can also download free channel icons which also looks cool and correctr.y identifies the channel you want.

Same here, Works great an saves on the clutter. Went from seven remotes to one.

I picked a 555 up cheap earlier in the year (then a pair of 525's for other rooms), and it controls the TV, my DVD + blu ray players and amp/decoder (both with separate settings for if i'm watching something in surround or just stereo), the cable box etc

I think the only changes to the default profiles it created for each device combo was to add the "prev" button on the remote to match the "back" button on the cable remote, and to replace the function of the "channel up/down" buttons from chapter skips to secondary volume controls when playing DVD's and Blu-rays (I kept skipping chapters by mistake).

Probably the best remotes I've ever used, and they save so much room on my desk (it was getting silly with 4-5 remotes being used on a daily basis in my PC room).

The only downside is they eat batteries, so I've invested in some enerloop rechargeables that last 2-3 months between charges

I use cheap Asda long life batteries and I've had to replace them once in over a year with a 555 remote, with lots of daily use.

The Harmony One has a cradle to recharge itself. Needs to go in about once a week.

Got a 555 myself and love it! It controls my Samsung V+, Samsung TV and Sony surround sound perfectly. I've done a couple of tweaks including setting the |<< button to give me the 8 second skip back.

It does take a little time to set up, especially during testing your setup and your PC is in another room!

Got a 555 earlier this year too, best Â£40 I have spent! Can't recommend them highly enough.

I've got the Skip/Repeat buttons set up to go straight to x32 Fast Forward/Rewind and will probably set my pin number up as Dazza124 suggested (Thanks for the Tip)

One thing I will say is when programming it for the the V+, put manufacturer in as VirginMedia and model as V+. I tried SA 8300 for mine at first and got all sorts of weird and wonderful buttons appear, can only assume it was the american version of the box details.
